This article will provide an overview of extending your Beyond Identity passkey from your Linux device to another device.
Instructions
This article is intended for users that have already registered a Beyond Identity passkey on a Linux device.
Migrating passkeys via SSH is not supported, as the export part requires user to authenticate on the device.
-
Open terminal
-
Get the existing passkeys
Use the following command to list the passkeys on your Linux device:
beyond-identity credentials
3. Start the passkey migration
Use the following command to start the migration process. Note that the variable is the handle of the passkey from the list.
beyond-identity credential export <handle>
You will be prompted for verifying your identity on the device.
Once you have authenticated a QR code and text code will be shown.
4. Scan or enter the code on the other device
Remember not to share your screen while adding the passkey or keep the code open too long.
After completing the process on another device the request will be processed and a message indicates it was successful.
