I receive an invalid client certificates error when attempting to register my passkeys

This article provides an overview of the invalid client certificates error and how to recover and successfully register your passkeys with Beyond Identity.

What's the issue?

When attempting to register I am being presented with an gRPC error stating Grpc(Grpc("Status { code: Unauthenticated, message: \"invalid client certificates\" }"))

This error occurs when a user’s device system clock is either set 15 minutes or greater in the future or 70 minutes or greater in the past.

What’s the solution?

This error can be resolved by setting the time and date correctly on that specific device. We recommend having the operating system set the time and date automatically.
