This article covers the typical scenario when a user gets a message.
”Error logging in with Beyond Identity. Please ensure that Beyond Identity Authenticator is installed.”
Typical causes
On the Windows platform, one common cause is Microsoft updates pending a reboot. If you have not rebooted your computer for a few days, it is recommended to try that as the first option.
The most common situation is that the app is not running, as it has yet to start automatically after a reboot or an update. The second most common situation is that the Beyond Identity Authenticator has not been installed.
1. Check that you have the application installed
a. In Windows, Click Start, and type Beyond, and if you see Beyond identity, you can start it.
b. In Mac, open Finder and go to Applications, look for the Beyond Identity Authenticator, and start it.
2. If you don’t find the Beyond Identity Authenticator on your computer, you may need to install it.
a. Go to https://app.byndid.com/downloads/
b. Download and Install the Beyond Identity Authenticator
c. Extend your profile to the newly installed Authenticator if it was not recovered automatically.
