This article explains how to fix a Windows Desktop Login PIN lockout by resetting and re-enrolling the PIN.
What is the error?
When logging into Windows, while enrolled in Windows Desktop Login (WDL), if there are five failed login attempts with the pin, you will see a message "Unable to log you in. Pin is expired." This is a standard error message from Windows Hello if the account is locked.
How do I fix this?
Log into Windows using your local password.
Unenroll from Windows Desktop Login.
Set up a new Pin.
Re-enroll in Windows Desktop Login.
